PJD complete works at Shoreham Power Station
Scottish Power Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Station, Shoreham, Sussex
PJD was awarded Scottish Power’s Mechanical Repair and Maintenance Framework against competitive tender in May 2010.
There immediately followed the Mid-life Major Inspection and Repair Outage at the Power Station. This was a fast-track four week schedule, starting with a fixed inspection preparation and welding scope, developed through emergent work into a £500,000 programme, across the whole system (off-turbine), which was scoped, planned, procured and executed in the four week period.
Major work elements included:
- Complete realignment and repair to Stork Boilers HRSG internal trusses
- Design, manufacture and installation of Cooling Water (tidal) plant debris baskets
- Removal and replacement of roof mounted blow-down tank silencer
- Removal, repair and reinstatement of safety valve gland boxes
- Emergent pressure weld repairs resulting from insurance inspections
- Removal, inspection support, repair and reinstatement of Cooling Water equipment and culvert covers
- Extended NDT preparation by dedicated specialist grinding team
