PJD thrilled to be accredited to the CEMARs Scheme

In a bid to significantly reduce our carbon emissions, PJD has recently been accredited to the Certified Emissions Measurement and Reduction Scheme (CEMARs) in association with Achilles.

The scheme enables businesses and organisations to measure their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in compliance with ISO 14064-1(the international standard for greenhouse gas quantification and reporting), understand their carbon liabilities, and put in place management plans to reduce emissions in their organisation and more widely through their supply chain (http://www.carbonzero.co.nz).

Accreditation to the scheme gives a clear indication of our environmental intentions and will allow the company to consistently measure, manage and report our carbon footprint. The target set by PJD is a 10% reduction of its carbon footprint based on the 2008/09 baseline which totalled 835.52 tonnes of CO2.

During the certification process we took it upon ourselves to relay the same scheme throughout our supply chain. This has led to a further six companies joining the CEMARS scheme. PJD is on track to achieve its ambition of becoming one of the greenest companies in the engineering sector.
