Corporate Responsibility
Health and Safety
We promote good health and safety and welfare standards as a fundamental requirement which all employees must meet, and we employ a full time safety team of NEBOSH qualified personnel dedicated to achieving this objective.
Our health and safety culture is driven from the top of our organisation, through every sector of the workforce, to encourage support and commitment from our entire staff. We currently hold BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 and are working towards a number of more comprehensive accreditations, including the British Safety Council Five Star Audit in 2010/2011.
Since 2003, PJD has annually achieved the ROSPA Gold Award for Occupational Safety, and the prestigious Gold Medal since 2008.
Safety training is another key component of our safe-working strategy and all levels of the workforce hold nationally recognised safety qualifications, including CCNSG Safety Passport, IOSH and NEBOSH.
We are committed throughout our working practices to ensure:
- There is no harm to any employee
- We develop and continually improve our safe practices and procedures
- We continually challenge unsafe acts and take corrective action
- That no job is too small to be safely carried out
All accidents are unacceptable and our target is zero. We believe that by being open and transparent we can reassure our clients that we're leaders in health and safety performance.
